 Alaria esculenta is known by many names, most commonly Dabberlocks, Badderlocks, and Winged Kelp, often referred to as Atlantic Wakame in commerce, while other regional terms include Honeyware, Bladderlocks, and Gaelic names like Láir or Láracha, reflecting its traditional use as an edible seaweed in Northern Atlantic regions.
